For a moment, the MENDELU campus in Brno turned into a place where spacetime was symbolically curved. An inflatable model of a black hole named Singulóna from the Brno Observatory and Planetarium arrived on site, giving visitors a closer look at one of the greatest mysteries of the universe.
The six-metre-wide installation offered a unique visual interpretation of a black hole and attracted the attention of students, visitors and passers-by. The event also featured the new ZETOR Series 6, which complemented the atmosphere of the event, connecting technology, science and innovation.
The event also served as a reminder of the upcoming expert meeting at the Brno Observatory, where specialists from around the world will gather on 18 May to discuss black holes. Among the guests will be Professor Andrea Ghez, Nobel Prize laureate in Physics, who contributed to the discovery of the supermassive object Sagittarius A* at the centre of our Galaxy.
