Zetor Forterra triumphs at race in Latvia

Brno, 18th June 2012: Nothing could beat the Zetor Forterra in the Tractor Race which is the main highlight at the Traktordiena (Tractor Day), an agricultural technology show held in Latvia. The machine from the Czech brand triumphed in the 80 – 120 horsepower category and as such was able to defend its first place position from the previous year. Local distributor of agricultural technology, Agrimatco Latvia competed with its tractor.

The final race came to a close with the Zetor Forterra driven by Gunars Eltermanis from the engineering team at Agrimatco Latvia who finished with a 7-second lead.

Visitors also had the chance to take a look at an impressive display of Zetor tractors presented by Agrimatco. One collector’s item on display for instance, was the retro model tractor, the Zetor 25 dating back to 1946. The Agrimatco exhibition proved to be one of the most popular event attractions.

Tractor day is one of the largest agricultural technology shows in the Baltics. It is organised by the Latvian Fund for Agricultural Development. This year marked the third anniversary of this event which has become a truly significant happening. The Traktordiena 2012 took place on 19th May in the town of Laubere (county Ogres) which is approximately 70 km away from Riga. Around 4000 visitors flocked to the event keen not to miss out on the action.

Agrimatco Latvia is the Latvian subsidiary of Agrimatco which operates in 47 countries worldwide as a distributor of agricultural and veterinary technology, fertilisers and seed for sowing. It imports Zetor tractors to Latvia.
